The rap game is about as unstable as our economy has been over the last 5 years, however diversity has risen above all the obstacles thrown in emcee's way, and is what makes them stand apart from a self proclaimed "Rapper". If you watch any reality show, somebody on there is a "rapper" pushing a demo tape, your next door neighbor, your boss at your job, your baby mama's cousin's uncles nephew is even trying to sell you a CD for five dollars or less.
NativeOfVa or N.O.V for short, has composed a plan to revive a torpid industry, dropping his mix-tape "The Black Print" which were track's personally picked by JAY-Z that unfortunately didn't make the album, and releasing his first single's video "Spotlight" produced by longtime label-mate and in house collaborator DJ Outbreak, things have began to look up.
N.O.V, mainly raised in Oceanview and East Forest neighborhoods of Norfolk, VA has work closely over the last few years with a few of the industries top producers and artists to get preferment amongst fans and industry associates alike, such as shows with Chamillionare, E-40, Busta Rhymes, Dj Battle Cat (legendary West Coast Producer), DJ L.E.S (former producer for Nas), Bone Thugs N Harmony, Juelz Santana, Blackowned C-Bone (Purple Ribbon Allstars), Short Dawg (Young Money), Tim Westwood, MFN Entertainment, and Wyldfyer, just to name a few.
With a debut album currently in the works, and plentiful mix-tapes and tracks available, he hopes to re-surge the second golden age of hip hop, going further away from flash, jewels, and street dealings, back to perceptive, substantive, topics in classic Emcee tradition.
In attempt to succeed where so many others have been unsuccessful, up until recently, N.O.V. hopes to bring the anticipation back to hip hop.
