Nike and adidas have both been going all-in on Canadian-inspired apparel ahead of this weekend’s NBA All-Star game, and these Nike Foamposites might be the best pair yet. They have been dubbed the “Northern Lights” after their Aurora Borealis inspired colors and patterning.

The trim of and sole the shoe is in all black, with subtle highlights appearing on the tongue and heel tabs in the form 3M materials that will flash in the light. The soles are mismatched patterns of blue and green colors, while the majority of the shoe is covered in an artist’s rendition of the swirling Northern Lights.  The Foamposite was an ideal silhouette for this design because the vertical ribbing on the shoe already evokes the wavy look of the Aurora Borealis.

Other shoes with Northern Lights influences include glow-in-the-dark adidas kicks and a green Flyknit Nike Kobe 11.

The “Northern Lights” Foamposite One drops this Friday, February 12 for $275. Will you be lining up for them?
