In the midst of releases from the likes of Chaz French, Wizkid, Jay 305, and French Montana, East Coast-bred siren Niia covertly dropped off her debut album I.

The newcomer's voice is familiar to those acquainted with Wyclef Jean's 2007 cut "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)," in which Niia was featured alongside Akon and Lil Wayne.

On her project, Niia brings on Compton lyricist Boogie for a little help on "California," a delicate record that appears toward the end of the 12-track effort, and per usual, the faithfully introspective emcee doesn't miss a beat.

If the track is any indication of Niia's sound, the full project is definitely worth a listen.

Quotable Lyrics

I hate that you're holding me back, but I know it's the reason I grow
I hate you like having to walk through them n*ggas in front of the store
I hate that I want it, and maybe I love it, but hate that you know.
Shit, I don't know.
