BMX pro Nigel Sylvester has partnered up with Jordan Brand for the release of an exclusive Air Jordan 1, which takes inspiration from Nigel’s AJ1s that are often seen with heavy distress marks created during the trial and error period of mastering tricks.
The limited edition Air Jordan 1s feature a weathered "sail" colored leather upper, accompanied by a black tongue, black (or white) laces and a black inner lining, as well as varsity red Nike Air branding and a varsity red outsole.
According to Nike, a reflective material was used on the medial swoosh to provide a flashing effect while night riding. Within the inner collar of the shoe is the designation "Jordan Biking Co., Est. 2017," which signifies the year the project was kicked off. Additional details include multiple built-in scuffs about the toe and heel, along with a small Nike swoosh at the forefoot.
Nike released select pairs in the New York City area today, but the kicks are officially slated to release, in extremely limited numbers, on Saturday, September 1.
