Following President Trump's unilateral efforts to reform US immigration policy, Nicki Minaj sent out a cryptic response on Twitter. The rap star, who took a social media break after announcing her breakup from Meek Mill, posted that she is a "proud immigrant."

Born in Trinidad, Minaj blasted POTUS on last year's “Black Barbies,” spitting, “Island girl, Donald Trump want me go home” and “Now prayin’ all my foreigns don’t get deported.” Last week, the orange-faced leader banned refugees of seven predominantly Muslim nations from entry into the country.

Though a NY federal judge partially blocked the Muslim ban, reports suggest the White House is drafting other similar executive orders to deter immigration. Minaj's message about losing hope might also refer to former President Barack Obama, whose slogan was all about looking forward to the future.
