Nick Cannon has been staunchly refusing to return to his role as host of America’s Got Talent despite requests for him to return this season. Now that NBC is reportedly looking into new hosts, TMZ caught up with Nick to ask his opinion of the potential candidates: Marlon Wayans, Brandon Mychal Smith and Tone Bell.
Right away, Cannon asks “why they going with a black guy?” He then goes on to say that Mario Lopez should do it (a very palatable choice). The former AGT host makes a good point by questioning why NBC would be looking for a black candidate to replace him after he originally butted heads with the network’s executives over his outspokenness on black issues.
