The NHL's All-Star Weekend will get underway from the Staples Center in Los Angeles this Saturday, January 28th with the Coors Light NHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7pm, followed by the actual All-Star Game on Sunday, January 29th at 3:30pm.

Of course, the NHL is the least popular of the four major sports in the United States and not many people are even aware that the league's All-Star festivities are scheduled to take place this weekend.

That's why they've enlisted the help of Snoop Dogg (aka DJ Snoopadelic) to DJ during the Skills Competition on Saturday in an effort to drum up some hype for the weekend's events.

Per the NHL press release:

"World-renowned rapper Snoop Dogg will open the 2017 Coors Light NHL All-Star Skills Competition™ this Saturday at STAPLES Center behind the turntables as DJ Snoopadelic. The rapper-turned-DJ will perform a set on the ice during player introductions before the All-Stars showcase their hockey talents in six events. The 2017 Coors Light NHL All-Star Skills Competition™ and DJ Snoopadelic performance will broadcast live on NBCSN in the U.S. and on CBC, Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada this Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT."

Additionally, the NHL will be kicking off the weekend with the "NHL 100" celebration on Friday night in which Robin Thicke will introduce the in-memorium segment with a tribute to his late father, Alan Thicke. According to Yahoo Sports, John Hamm will host that event while special guest presenters will include Michael J. Fox, Keanu Reeves, Al Michaels and Alex Trebek.
