Like many young artists, Nessly draws influence from the Super Slimey duo of Future and Young Thug. "Young Thug is a huge inspiration for me," reveals Nessly. "The way he moves his voice is like an instrument, and making words that don't necessarily rhyme together rhyme." He takes a second to shout out Future as well. "I just really love their music," says Nessly. Gotta respect an artist paying it forward. He goes on to reflect on the time he sat in on a session with Thug and A-Trak. "Thug records super fast. Ten fifteen minutes. To hear the words he uses in that time, it's like, does he read a fucking dictionary for breakfast?"

He goes on to talk about Nav, as some fans have taken to drawing comparisons between the two. "I get it all the time," says Nessly. "I don't really really hear it...I guess when I take a step back, maybe we have a similar talking voice maybe, and the auto-tune on top of it when singing makes it sound similar." At the end of the day, Nessly feels like they make different types of music. "I think he does what he does well. I think I do what I do well, and that's it."
