Nelly Performs In Iraq To Raise Money For The War Against ISIS

While we haven't heard any new music from Nelly since 2013, the St. Louis rapper's latest live performance took him where no other rapper--or American artist--has gone before. Nelly recently traveled to northern Iraq to perform in Erbil, becoming the first American artist to ever perform in the city.

The concert was part of an event put on to raise money for the "peshmerga," the Kurdish military force that's been fighting the terrorist group ISIS in northern Iraq. The event, which included motocross and soccer, reportedly drew 15,000 people. 

The Rwanga Foundation, who organized the event, tweeted a picture of Nelly's arrival in Kurdistan, which you can see below.
