On his debut EP, released in November, Nef the Pharaoh linked up with producer Cardo for an excellent Michael Jackson tribute. The song ended up leading to a 10-track collaborative EP, Neffy Got Wings, which dropped yesterday. The features on the project are strictly from Cali, and one of the standout tracks, "Devils Team," features another rising Bay rapper, Sacramento's Mozzy, who recently featured on YG's "City Mad."

The Cardo beat is pure luxury, with glimmering harps, immersive background synths, and an ultra sticky g-funk bassline. Both rappers have a slick flow, allowing them to coast over the smooth production while still maintaining an upbeat energy. "We in the field playin' for the devil's team," Nef sings on the chorus. Gangsta rap rarely sounds this pretty.

Quotable Lyrics

Not a gardener, but on my lap I got a leaf blower
Real boy, no rap facts in my street folder
My shooter 12 with a gauge, he a small soldier
Vallejo n*gga, got shit to knock a car over
