Embiid slapped with fine for inappropriate language on social media.
Shortly after Lonzo Ball was selected with the #2 overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, his father LaVar predicted that the Lakers would make the playoffs in his rookie season.
Not long after that comment was made, the Sixers' Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid took some jabs at LaVar on twitter, which Embiid recently followed up by saying, point blank, "Fuck LaVar Ball" in an Instagram Live video.
As it turns out, the NBA wasn't fond of Embiid's language, even though it all went down on his personal social media account, and he was fined $10,000 for it.
This is a slippery slope for the NBA if they're going to start fining every player that uses inappropriate language on social media. Check out the NBA's brief statement, as well as Embiid's response, below.
