For weeks the internet was full of rumors that NYC artist, Your Old Droog, was actually Nas, and that he was releasing music under a secret alias. Well as we now know, it turned out to be a hoax and completely fabricated as Your Old Droog made his formal debut live in NYC last month and revealed his identity.
During a recent press run for his new docuemtnary, Time Is Illmatic, Nas sits down with MTV’s Rob Markman to address the rumors. Well, kinda because apparently Nas has never ever heard of Your Old Droog or his mystery releases prior to this interview. Hear is what Nas tells Mark,
"What do you mean a secret Nas album? I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Nas said with a puzzled look on his face. "I don’t even know what that means. No secret EPs, I don’t want a secret EP I want you to know it’s me when I drop.”
