Nappy Roots have launched a new campaign, Something's Gotta Give Fridays, which finds them dropping new music weekly. After giving us "Hazy" the other week, they return this week for the second instalment, offering up the groovy cut "40 Intro." SMKA handles the production on this, just like with "Hazy," in fact the two collectives are working entirely together for Nappy Root's upcoming album The 40 Akerz Project.

"40 Intro" has a melodic sample through out, meshed with guitars and live instrumentation.  In 2010 Nappy Roots dropped The Pursuit of Nappyness, and in 2011 they collaborated with Organized Noize for Nappy Dot Org, but we haven't received a new album since then.

Quotable Lyrics

For the fame
A nigga kill me 'fore he learn my name
And he feel no shame
Goddamn, the world's insane
Smoke anything just tryna maintain
