Mississippi NTL Records

Young Black G.B. is from the Mississippi Delta, home and birthplace of the blues and gospel. Born and raised in Sunflower County where blues legend B.B. King, Little Milton and Willie Clayton have called home as well as civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. Pops Staples as well as Archie Manning and Johnny Russell have also called Sunflower County home. It is from the rich Mississippi gumbo that Young Black G.B. honed his skills as a rapper, battling everywhere from the back of the school bus to the gym bleachers during his time in high school. Influenced by legends such as 2Pac and Scarface (also influenced by acts such as Gangsta Nip, Three 6 Mafia and The D.O.C. ), Black would progress during the years, become a more polished rapper and recorded some songs that garnered him some attention locally, but still not to the point where he was able to let the world hear his voice. He later associated himself with a local record label and it seems that Black was on his way to making a name for himself. But things went sour for Black as all of his songs that he created were taken from him. Thru the advice of his long time friend Patrick "PP" Perry, he advised Black to disassociate him from the group and to continue on his path solo. Black took some time off to grow more not only as a rapper but also as a person. When Black came back to the scene, he was determined to not only show he was the best rapper in the Delta, he was going to prove that he was one of the best rappers in the South period. With this new attitude, "Welcome To Mississippi" was created. Black shows that the Mississippi Delta is more than the blues. It is rich as with rap talent as the soil that his ancestors worked on during slavery. "Welcome To Mississippi" is the anthem for anyone that was born and raised in Mississippi and proud of it. Hittmens DJ Bigg V heard the single and has been spinning the record consistently ever since. Others stations in the state have picked up the single and have opened the eyes of a few people. With future bangers like "What's Up", "She Getting Buck" and "We Stand 4", Young Black is set to open the eyes of the world with his release which will be well-balanced (which can not be said for most albums released today) and have something for everyone
