The NBA playoffs are often a great opportunity for hip hop artists to get their new music promoted on a huge platform. Noteworthy examples include Eminem's "Not Afraid" in 2010 and Pitbull and Christina Aguilera's "Feel This Moment" in 2013. Now Mobb Deep will try their hand at this, teaming up with ESPN for a remix of their 1995 track "Survival Of The Fittest" that'll act as the opening for “NBA Countdown” during the Western Conference Finals.

Both members of the group released statements, with Prodigy writing, "It is absolutely incredible that, on the 20th Anniversary of the recording of ’Survival Of The Fittest,’ the meaning of the song is as relevant as ever.”

Havoc adds, "We would like to thank ESPN for choosing our record and for making it the anthem of one of the most important U.S. sports events of the year. We were absolutely excited to deliver a remix version of this classic and a visual to accompany the opening of ’NBA Countdown.'”
