Snoop Dogg rarely goes more than a few months without releasing new music. In Wednesday's early hours he quietly posted a collaboration with Mike Will Made-It called "Late Nights." The record contains low-key drums, silky electric piano fills, and hazy guitar, the ideal soundtrack for a nocturnal smoke sesh. Mike Will the producer MVP of 2016 so far.
Well here's something we didn't coming. Out of nowhere, Kid Cudi decides to surprise fans with a new song on his soundcloud page tonight called “All In.”
MFN Right (Remix)
2 Chainz Feat. Lil Wayne
Prior to the release of his joint project with Lil Wayne, Collegrove, 2 Chainz had been riding relatively high off the success of his the uber catchy "MFN Right," which appeared on his solo mixtape Felt Like Cappin. The song features relatively simple production from Mike WiLL and Zaytoven, carried by a flute melody and sparse keys, as well as relatively simple lyrics, but to great effect.
Yesterday Zane Lowe teased that this Beats 1 world premiere would be arriving today-- and here it is. The record, titled "Look Alive," is produced by Rae Sremmurd's EarDrummer Records boss, Mike WiLL Made It and follows up their January release "By Chance." While we're used to hearing the duo hyped up over equally energetic beats, "Look Alive" goes a different direction. It feels more experimental, with Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy's faraway, echoing vocals, and slow, deliberate production from Mike.
A few hours before he releases Slime Season 3, Young Thug gives fans something to chew on: a new track called "With Them".
Young Thug Feat. Offset & Solo Lucci
Young Thug went ahead and dropped his tape yesterday, though the day before, he changed its title from Slime Season 3 to I'm Up.
We've been listening to 2 Chainz' "Felt Like Cappin'" mixtape all week, and after listening to OVO Sound Radio last night, it seems we're not the only ones. The Zaytoven and Mike WiLL-produced "MF'N Right" made an appearance during last night's broadcast, and it served as a welcome departure from the mix's usual aesthetic.
Young Thug Feat. Quavo
Keeping his word, Young Thug comes through today and releases his new Quavo-featured single “F Cancer,” which he says was inspired by his close friend Boosie Badazz who's coming off successful kidney surgery last month removing a cancerous tumor.
Tinashe Feat. Juicy J
Tinashe's Joyride feels more imminent than ever. With plans to head out on tour next month, the singer has now shared a new record from the project, teaming once again with Mike WiLL Made It (who provided "Thug Cry" on Aquarius) as well as Juicy J for "Energy".
Damn, Mike Will. The first Ransom 2 cut could've easily been the lead single off SremmLife 2, and now, the latest leak off the highly anticipated mixtape comes from Mike's day 1 trapper -- Future Hendrix, who's in rare, rare form on "Al Sharpton."
Earlier this afternoon, Mike WiLL Made It teased fans that a new Rae Sremmurd song was on the way. He's followed through, with the first leak off his upcoming Ransom 2 mixtape, as well as the reveal of the cover art. Whereas Ransom was moreso a platform for Mike WiLL to showcase his own singles with a few of his favorite artists, Ransom 2 will focus on the artists themselves rather than the producer.
Just over a month ago, we hadn't even heard of Eearz. Then he released "Work Ya Muscle," featuring a crazy Mike Will beat, and it was obvious that the guy could be a major part of Ear Drummers' roster. Now, as he's released his debut mixtape, Eearz to da Streets, it's certain that Eearz is another one of Mike Will's prodigies, and we can't wait to see what comes next. Here's "Chain Reaction," one of the tape's standout tracks.
Mike Will Made-It's Ear Drummers is a breeding ground for the game's hottest young acts. If you initally slept on Rae Sremmurd, make sure you don't do the same with Eearz. His first release, "Work Ya Muscle," is on its way to becoming a hit, and his latest, "Domino Effect," is even bigger.
Before Drake fucked up the game and live streamed What a Time to Be Alive, he played out a short mix, which included tracks from lesser-knowns such as Kodak Black and the UK group Section Boyz, as well as a couple of exclusives. The biggest non-WATTBA track played during tonight's special episode of OVO Sound Radio has to be PartyNextDoor's "Blasé" remix.
Mrs Mary Mack
Juicy J Feat. Lil Wayne & August Alsina
Juicy J just dropped his new mixtape, 100% Juice, after formally announcing the mixtape just yesterday. The tracklist leaked yesterday as well, and fans got even more excited when seeing the names attached to it-- strong producers all around (as well as features), with Sonny Digital, 808 Mafia, Mike WiLL Made It, Crazy Mike and Lex Luger touching the boards. One of the more anticipated records was the Mike WiLL-produced "Mrs. Mary Mack" featuring Weezy and August Alsina, which has been rumored about for a minute.
Wiz Khalifa Feat. Rae Sremmurd
Taking a break from their recently-announced Sremmlife 2 project, Rae Sremmurd decide to assist Wiz Khalifa on this new Mike Will Made It-produced banger called “Burn Slow.”
Work Ya Muscle
With Rae Sremmurd successfully off the ground, and working on their follow-up to SremmLife, Mike WiLL Made It is putting some focus on a few lesser-known Ear Drummer signees. Just yesterday we got a mixtape from Yung Joey, who belongs on the roster, and today Mike WiLL debuts new music from a rapper called Eearz...another artist who seems to be named in tangent to the producer's imprint.
I Need Chickens
A day after posting Young Thug collab "Pacifier," Mike Will Made It shares another Thugger joint in "I Need Chickens."
With his Slime Season mixtape still on hold & without a release date, Young Thug looks to be moving ahead with the rollout process of his upcoming debut album Hitunes. Tonight, the ATL sipper, who's been charged with new drug & weapons charges yesterday, decides to come through and premiere the first single off the album called “Pacifier".
Future is following up one of his very first mixtapes, Dirty Sprite, with Dirty Sprite 2, an album. Old fans get to see Future return to his roots, while new fans get a quick Future history lesson, and will likely go searching for the first Dirty Sprite, thus it acts as a win-win.
