Top Tracks: July 11 - July 17
I'm not going to take the time to crunch all of the numbers for the 28 weeks of 2016 we've experienced thus far, but in terms of artists who show up most often in our weekly top ten tracks list, it's not even close. Drake is the clear victor, seeming to find a way on here every week. Second place is a little more murky.
Rae Sremmurd & Migos To Drop "Look Alive" Remix
Big-time remix incoming. The two waviest groups in the game, one a duo and one a trio -- both made up of blood relatives, are teaming up to drop a remix of one of the year's hottest club songs: "Look Alive." The track, released in April, is the third single off Rae Sremmurd's upcoming sophomore album, SremmLife 2. For the remix, brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have recruited the three cousins who make up the Migos.

Things are still unsettling in terms of our social climate, and obviously yesterday's incident at Bastille Day out in France isn't helping, leading to social media's usage of the #prayfortheworld hashtag. However on the music front, we had a pretty thriving week.
Ty Dolla $ign's "Campaign" To Feature Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Migos, Wiz Khalifa & More
Since releasing his excellent debut album, Free TC, in November of last year, Ty Dolla $ign has appeared on a number of features but hasn't yet given fans a project in 2016. Last month, however, Ty announced two upcoming mixtapes: Beach House 3 and Campaign. Earlier today, he premiered the title track of the latter project. "Campaign" is a heavy club anthem featuring Future that finds each of the melodic hitmen at his most ratchet.

This week was dominated more by saddening news stories than it was by music, but the social outcry regarding the many innocent lives that were taken in the past week have also resulted directly in new music-- it's bittersweet, obviously. With plenty of artists hitting the booth to give their own take on the tense social climate, we definitely didn't lack in songs this past week.

Behind The Beat: Honorable C-Note
Over 15 years into his career, Honorable C-Note is just starting to get comfortable. He's become known as a master of suspense, lending thundering arrangements, or "scores," as he calls them, to some of the best talent in Atlanta, where he's resided for 10 years now. More recently, he's produced monsters for each of the two leading members of the A$AP Mob. His compositions are a recipe for goosebumps -- hearing shrill strings crawl atop a chorus of doomsday horns while A$AP Ferg howls about "bedbugs in the motel" on "New Level" gets me every time.
Migos Have Recorded "Multiple" Songs With Kanye West
We recently got to hear 1/3 of Migos on Kanye West's lead Cruel Winter single, "Champions," however it sounds like the group as a whole has a lot more in store with Ye. This isn't exactly surprising, we did see the trio chilling with Kanye on Easter, however now we have proper confirmation that there's stuff "in the chamber."
Migos & Peewee Longway Clash Over Who Said "Dab" First
Migos have certainly done a lot for the terms "dab" and "pipe it up," but according to Peewee Longway, he's the first person to say each of the phrases on a track. After laying claim to the lingo on Twitter, writing "Who the first one to say piped it up (ME) who the first to say dab (ME)," and hastagging the tweet with "#FACTS". It didn't take long for Migos to respond, writing, "SINCE WE TALKIN FACTS .. Migos Gave U Life!!," while Offset offered his own thought on the matter, captioning an Instagram post with "CLAIMING WORDS AINT HELPING CAREERS... MAKE A HIT N*GGA".
Smothered & Covered: 6 Great Moments In Hip Hop X Waffle House History
There's something about Waffle House that brings out the inner beast in people. The food, combined with the ambience, is nothing short of incredible. It holds a special place in the hearts and minds of countless rappers. "This ain't IHOP," Waka Flocka rapped in his famed collaboration with Travis Porter, "Waffle House". "This the waffle house. Know how we rock, put it in her mouth."
10 Joint Projects That May Or May Not Come Out
For every Watch the Throne or What a Time to Be Alive, there are scores of joint hip hop projects borne of one epic late night in the studio that never crystallize into a fully formed release. As fans, we should know better than to let these glimmers of collaborative greatness get our hopes up. But the possibilities are too great to ignore.
Staff Picks Playlist (April 22)
This week was pretty monumental. Of course, the sudden passing of Prince rocked the hip-hop world (and accompanying blogosphere) quite a bit, and many, fans and celebrities alike, are still in shock. Apart from that unfortunate news (and his wasn't the only death we reported on this week), we also had some pretty '
Migos Announce "No Label 3" Mixtape; Preview New Music
It looks like fans can start to look forward to the third installment in Migos’ No Label mixtape series. On Wednesday, the ATL trio announced the upcoming mixtape with the release of an in-studio visual of them previewing new music off the tape. Unfortunately, no other details were revealed about the tape, but if what we hear in the clip (below) is just the beginning of what’s to come, then the streets & fans are in for a real treat.
14 Artists That Drake Co-Signed
A Drake co-sign will put you on the map, straight up. It's happened for many artists over the past half-decade or so. The Weeknd was only brought into the mainstream spotlight when Drake appeared on his sophomore mixtape Thursday. Migos stock skyrocketed after Drizzy jumped on "Versace." Even the likes of dancehall star Popcaan has been able to crossover into the American mainstream after garnering attention from Drake.
Offset Of Migos Arrested For Marijuana Possession
Offset was arrested last night on charges of marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license, reports TMZ. The Migo was pulled over late Wednesday night in Chattahoochee, GA, near the Alabama border. Police found less than an ounce of marijuana and booked him on the spot.
Migos, Lil Yachty, Big Sean, Vic Mensa & Tyler The Creator Spotted Working With Kanye West On "Turbo Grafx 16"
Even though we’re only a few weeks removed from The Life Of Pablo, Kanye West is already working on its follow up, Turbo Grafx 16, which is slated to arrive this Summer. On Monday, Migos’ Quavo took to Instagram to stunt on the competition with a picture of him, Offset, Big Sean, Tyle The Creator, Lil Yachty, and Vic Mensa all in the studio working with Kanye West on his next album “Turbo,” as he wrote in the caption.
Quavo Of Migos Has A Message For The Police
Atlanta trap trio Migos have been under the microscope of law enforcement for more than a little while. Their live shows have always been rowdy affairs, and in some cases have led to violence among fans, and Offset spent some time in jail last year stemming from drug and firearm possession charges.
