Mick Jenkins drops the first single for his upcoming album.

Fans of the talented Chicago emcee Mick Jenkins have been ravenously waiting for news of the rapper’s debut album The Healing Component. This morning, their pleas were answered in the form of the excellent track “Spread Love.” Featuring Jenkins’ signature rapid-fire wordplay and poetic metaphors, the track asks listeners what they intend to do with their coin.

Prolific Seattle producer Sango provides the soulful, jazzy backing instrumental for the song. However, music isn’t the only thing Mick Jenkins provided fans today. He’s using the track to announce the date for The Healing Component’s release date – September 23. Mark your calendars and check out tour dates for Mick Jenkins' fall tour here.

Quotable Lyrics

I quit the fantasies and started planting seeds
tryna usher in a little growth
my nigga we been on our way up, I won't say a lay up
but love is easier than what they show
