Jim Harbaugh and the University of Michigan Wolverines are in Rome this week and you know what they say, "When in Rome... give the Pope a special edition pair of Air Jordans."

According to The Detroit Free Press, Harbaugh and his players visited the Vatican today and listened as Pope Francis spoke to the crowd in St. Peter's Square before blessing him with some Wolverines apparel.

Per The Detroit Free Press,

"It's an incredible honor to be here with the Pope," said Jay Harbaugh, the head coach's son, as his father was about to meet the Pope. "It's almost surreal, We were about 15 yards from him. It's almost other worldly. Most people go their whole lives without seeing the Pope in person. It's pretty special."

"I'm speechless," said Jared Wrangler, a linebacker who is Catholic. "It's unbelievable. Hard to put into words. I recognized some of it, from hearing it over and over. I was trying to follow along with the words."

Coach Harbaugh then presented Pope Francis with a navy and maize "Michigan Wolverines" Air Jordan 5 PE, along with a Wolverines football helmet that featured both American and Italian flags on it as well as a "No.226" sticker because he is the 226th pope.
