Two weeks ago, it was revealed that a "private American collector" bought the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin for "millions." A Bloomberg Business article revealed that the anonymous buyer is none other than Martin Shkreli, pharmaceutical executive best known for raising the price of Daraprim, a life-saving AIDs and cancer drug, from $13.50 a pill to $750 a pill. “It’s a business, we’re supposed to make as much money as possible,” he explained.

Shkreli, 32, said that he believed his reputation as a morally reprehensible price-gouger may prevent the Wu-Tang from selling him the 31-track album, of which there is only one copy, but they happily handed it over for $2 million, his winning bid. He even had the opportunity to have lunch with RZA. “We didn’t have a ton in common,” Shkreli said. “I can’t say I got to know him that well, but I obviously like him."

Shkreli has yet to listen to the album... he's waiting for that special someone to share the experience with. “I could be convinced to listen to it earlier if Taylor Swift wants to hear it or something like that,” he said. “But for now, I think I’m going to kind of save it for a rainy day.”
