There was a notable aura surrounding Meek Mill prior to the release of his fourth studio album. For one, Championships marked Meek's first full-length project since his release from a notoriously unjust prison sentence. Not only that, but Meek seemed a man renewed, having made peace with former foes and further cultivated some pre-existing relationships. It seemed as if everyone in the industry wanted to work with Meek; in that sense, Championships feels like a validation of sorts, despite the fact that Meek has always held a place at the table.

We've previously reflected on Meek as the "people's champ," whom many have rallied around in recent memory. Now that many have had the weekend to let Championships resonate, it seems as if the positive reception has only intensified. Off the top, Twitter has been abuzz with praise:

The love continued on IG, as Meek drew words of encouragement from all corners; even a few former foe chimed in with some positive reinforcement. Clearly, the narrative has come to shift in Meek's favor, and given the quality of his recent project, it's safe to say that the praise is well-deserved.
