There's a reason why most of the highly coveted Nike, Air Jordan and Yeezy releases nowadays are handled with supreme caution, raffle systems and reservation apps. In case anyone forgot, this weekend's "Doernbecher" Air Jordan 7 release at NikeLab in SoHo serves as a good refresher.
The snow and cold weather didn't deter many sneakerheads from showing up outside of NikeLab's 21 Mercer Street location and when everyone was packed in between the barricades like sardines tensions were running hot; before long a few haymakers were thrown and all hell broke loose.
As seen in the video, the fight ultimately spilled over into the street and everyone involved lost their place in line while cooler heads prevailed and moved up to take their place.
