Charts Don’t Lie: January 27th
This week we see a new chart-topper arrive, the New York rapper who takes on that southern style, A$AP Rocky. Rocky's debut album, Long.Live.A$AP did surprisingly well. We see albums leak all the time-- usually it's just a week prior to the album's release though. In Rocky's case, we saw it leak a month early. However, Rocky continued doing promo and dropping singles, not worrying about the album leak or bumping his release date up. And it worked out well for him, he still sold a large amount of copies, and landed #1 on the Billboard 200.

One of the surprising breakout artists of 2012 was the collabo team of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis whose The Heist LP moved some major units, especially considering their indie status. Recently, their big single off the project “Thrift

Charts Don't Lie: March 17th
As the past few months have been slow all-around when it comes to music, we are not seeing many, if any, new hip-hop entries on the charts. However this shortage of music is coming to a close; the past week or two have seen many big songs drop, and a mixtape or three. We'll definitely begin to see some new names on Charts Don't Lie as early as next week, with Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience dropping on March 19th. Nonetheless, album-wise, we aren't seeing anything new this week. Instead, we have T.I.
Charts Don't Lie: March 24th
This week we await the official numbers for Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience, which is projected to sell huge amounts (750-800k), and will no doubt take over Charts Don’t Lie

Charts Don't Lie: March 10th
On Charts Don't Lie this week we familiar faces, along with one that may seem completely random: Flo Rida. We'll get to that one in a minute. As for the regulars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis see their best chart peak this week since they debuted at #2, with a leap from #16 to #4. Once more, it seems like promotion is on the rapper and producer's side, as an appearance on Saturday Night Live seems to have given a boost, perhaps not only to their single "Thrift Shop," but also to their album.
Charts Don't Lie: May 19
This week on Charts Don't Lie some of the less consistent rappers have fallen off, while others prove they're on the charts for the long-term. We already knew Justin Timberlake would be here awhile, after he went platinum in very little time following his album's debut. However, there are some chart main-stays which we couldn't have predicted when the album initially dropped-- such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist.
Charts Don't Lie: March 3rd
The spike in album sales we saw accompany the Grammys and Valentine's Day has now subsided, with overall album sales having decreased by 20% over the week. Nonetheless our charts are staying pretty consistent: two female stars continue gripping onto the top spots of Charts Don't Lie, while their male counterparts take spots beneath them. While many artists decreased in album sales this week, the independent phenom that is Macklemore was one of the few to increase sale-wise. What is to blame for Macklemore's increase in LP sales this week?
Charts Don’t Lie: February 24th
Artists who performed at the Grammys or (better yet?) won an award, gained more than just the honor—they gained new fans, perhaps reached a wider audience than usual and thus increased sales of their music. Over the past week, overall album sales increased 17%, which is due in part to the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, but also, Valentine’s Day-- lest we forget the extremely commercialized holiday. There were definitely some urban artists who benefited from
