Yesterday it was revealed that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis almost didn't make it into the rap categories at the Grammys because they've been too successful aka mainstream aka pop this past year. However, in a landslide vote decided by the general Grammy committee, the final decision was to nominate them amongst rap competitors.

YelaWolf is not happy with Macklemore. This weekend, both rappers performed at the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal, Canada. All was well until Yela was approached by a fan for a photo. The rapper obliged the fan, but took interest in the festival-goer's shirt. Catfish Billy, who has been pushing his deer logo for some time now, assumed that the shirt was one of his own, but it turned out to be a Macklemore tee, which also happened to use a deer as its logo.

The Grammys finally go down this weekend, on Sunday January 27th, so there's plenty of Grammy discussion going down these past few days both rap-related and not. In the rap sphere, the competition is stiff, mainly divided between Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Jay Z. Of course, Kanye West and J. Cole, among other rappers, also received nods this year.

This week we saw Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience break another record, after first topping Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV in first week sales, it became the first record in 2013 to crack one million sales, going platinum just two weeks after it dropped. On the other end of the spectrum, we saw Weezy F's album, I Am Not A Human Being II, sell a strong 217k, but it did not really live up to his past LP sales.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had a huge 2013, despite releasing no new music. The duo's debut project, The Heist was released in 2012, but it made the majority of its impact throughout the following year, earning the two collaborators some Grammy nominations in the process. It seems that the rapper/producer team is finally through pushing their breakthrough project, as Mack announced via Instagram that he and Lewis are back in the studio together, captioning a photo of his creative partner with "Very happy to be back in the lab with this guy.... @ryanlewis".
