Mac Miller's "GO:OD AM" Has Officially Gone Gold

Mac Miller earns a posthumous certification for 2015's "GO:OD AM."

Yesterday marked two months since the passing of Mac Miller. The rapper's death struck the hip-hop community hard, not only for fans, but for the many artists he welcomed into his studio and collaborated with. A few weeks ago, the RIAA gave Mac Miller a posthumous certification for his 2015 album, GO:OD AM.

Mac Miller's third studio album, GO:OD AM has officially hit gold status a little over three years after it's release. The RIAA states the project received the certification on Oct. 26. The album featured appearances from Miguel, Chief Keef, Little Dragon, Ab-Soul and Lil B who recently shared his gratitude for the opportunity to be on the project. As the project hits gold status, Lil B revealed that it's the first gold album he's ever been on.

"MAC MILLER IS THE FIRST GOLD ALBUM LIL B HAS BEEN FEATURED ON," he wrote on Twitter. "LOVE YOU MAC THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME!! I AINT EVEN GET A CHANCE TO THROW IT BACK AT YA BUT I GOT YOU LONG TERM BELOVED THANK YOU !"

Mac Miller passed away on September 7th but the L.A. County Coroner revealed the cause of death earlier this week. The rapper's death was determined to be caused by a dangerous combination of cocaine and fentanyl. The official toxicology report stated his death came from a "mixed drug toxicity" with fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol listed as the substances found in his body.
