We've seen many different sides of Mac Miller since his evolution from the K.I.D.S. days, and among those sides we've seen a more experimental Mac and a more indie Mac. Since his departure from Rostrum Records, the Pittsburgh emcee has released his late-night-vibing "Tequila" instrumental. Today the rapper unleashes something else that finds him not actually rapping, a cover of Conor Oberst's indie folk band Bright Eyes. Mac chose to do a I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning cut, "Lua."

It's not a choice we may have been expecting, but it's not too surprising either given his penchant for experimenting outside of rap as of late, whether that be as Larry Fisherman or as Mac Miller. Mac sings the record over an acoustic guitar, and if you compare it to the original, it's really not too shabby. It's definitely not hip-hop, and it may not be the most up lifting record, but can you dig it?

Quotable Lyrics

"I got a flask inside my pocket, we can share it on the train / And if you promise to stay conscious I will try and do the same / We might die from medication, but we sure killed all the pain / But what was normal in the evening by the morning seems insane"
