Earlier today, fans were surprised to receive a notification from the late great Mac Miller's Twitter account. The notification in question centered around the upcoming tribute event, "Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life," set to transpire at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. For anyone unable to physically attend, there will ultimately be a livestream available for your viewing pleasure.
"Join us for the livestream of Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life on 10/31 at6:30pm PT," writes the official announcement. "The event will benefit The Mac Miller Circles Fund to support youth arts & community-building programs in Mac Miller’s memory." Should you be interested in tuning in, expect performances from Action Bronson, Anderson .Paak, Chance The Rapper, Vince Staples, ScHoolboy Q, J.I.D., John Mayer, Earl Sweatshirt, and more.
Though Mac's untimely death remains tragic, seeing his friends, collaborators and fellow creatives band together to honor his legacy is certainly bittersweet. We can only hope the event brings peace to those still grieving, even if the respite is only temporary. Rest in peace Mac Miller.
