When Fox decided to bring the DC Comics villain Lucifer to their network, few people even realized the series was based on a comic book. Lucifer was featured in the comic book The Sandman originally before getting his own spinoff story. Fox enjoyed a relatively high viewing status for the series in the first season, but those numbers steadily declined as the show carried on. After completing the third season, Lucifer was canceled. What made the cancellation even more bitter was the cliffhanger at the end of the series. Now, Netflix has scooped up Lucifer for a fourth season.

Netflix is sticking to its mission of releasing 1,000 originals streaming by the end of 2018Lucifer will make a magnificent contribution to their already enormous catalog, which is lacking in original DC Comics content in comparison to all their original Marvel shows. Lucifer is based on the devil, who gives up his place in hell to live in Los Angeles. He runs his own nightclub and helps the LAPD solve crimes, a rather altruistic task for the king of hell. Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as the devil himself, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez and Kevin Alejandro.
