Top Tracks: June 20 - June 26
Summer officially began this past week, and with it came a whole bevy of huge tracks, most of the biggest ones being collabs. There's something decidedly warm weather about the low-stakes posse cut, and that's mainly what our list consists of this week. All but two of these ten tracks didn't appear on last week's Top Ten, with a bunch of stuff falling off in the past week.
The 10 Best Five Fingers Of Death Freestyles
Hearing Sway Calloway introduce his radio show's centerpiece, the "Five Fingers Of Death" challenge, is truly something to behold. Abruptly switching gears from his softer interview tone, he'll adopt an Ali-esque swagger and go off the top to hype up the segment, saying things like, "There ain't no smoke, there's no mirrors, this ain't Hollywood." It's theatrical, yes, but the challenge, which asks rappers to freestyle over five random (and often very eclectic) beats selected by DJ Wonder, is one of the most difficult in the industry.
Top Tracks: June 13 - June 19
For ten out of the 24 weeks of 2016 we've experienced thus far, Drake has held the top spot in our Top 100 tracks list. Similar to the streak VIEWS is currently enjoying at the top of the Billboard charts, Drizzy's dominance in our metric of streaming-and-viewing success is pretty astounding, especially considering the mixed reaction his new album received.
The "Suicide Squad" Soundtrack Includes Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Kevin Gates & More
The star-studded upcoming film "Suicide Squad" is currently hogging much of this summer's box-office buzz. Based on the DC Comics team of antiheroes who take the same name, "Suicide Squad" will star Jared Leto, Will Smith, Cara Delevigne, Ben Affleck, and more. The film also happens to have quite the soundtrack, featuring number of hip-hop elites as well as some unexpected cross-genre collaborations.

Gucci Mane & Friends tour is scheduled to go down when La Flare gets released from prison in September and Kanye West is also shooting to kick off his The Life of Pablo tour in September as well.

"I wanna have a good time... for me this isn't about money, this is about just having a good time." "I'm currently working on two albums at the same time...One of them is “fun” lets put it that way. The second one is from the perspective from all different types of people," Logic explained.

Charts Don't Lie: December 2nd
While we had debuts from Jadakiss, Tech N9ne and the Empire soundtrack, this was Adele's week. The UK songwriter moved 3.48 million equivalent units of her third album 25, making it simultaneously the biggest sales week of the year, the biggest selling album of the year, and the biggest sales week of ALL TIME. It replaces N'SYNC's previous record, in which they sold 2.416 million of their sophomore LP Bye Bye Bye in 2000.
Logic Announces "The Incredible True Story" World Tour
Logic's sophomore album, The Incredible True Story, was a rather quiet success for Def Jam. The album surpassed early sales projections, stealing the show for #1 rap album the same week Ty Dolla $ign and Jeezy dropped respective albums. The next logical move (ha) is to take the album on the road. Logic isn't only visiting North America, he'll be heading overseas for his "Incredible World Tour."
Charts Don't Lie: November 25th
After multiple weeks without any big chart debuts, we were starting to think it was a drought. Thankfully, last week saw some HUGE releases, with Justin Bieber, Logic, Jeezy, and Ty Dolla $ign all dropping their albums. Biebs unsurprisingly came out on top, beating out fellow pop superstars One Direction in what turned out to be less of a battle than expected (1D moved 460,000 units to Bieber's 649k). Nevertheless it was the first time two debuting albums had sold over 400k in one week since Kanye West and 50 Cent's infamous head-to-head in 2007.
Logic, Jeezy, Ty Dolla $ign, & Justin Bieber First Week Sales Are In

Review: Logic's "The Incredible True Story"
Twenty-five-year-old Logic, the author of four buzzworthy mixtapes and, now, with the release of The Incredible True Story and the Transformation of the Man Who Saved the World, two studio LPs, is clearly equipped with immense talent. His first studio effort, Under Pressure, was good enough to put Logic himself under pressure. Yes, there were some enjoyable tracks on Under Pressure (“Bounce” and the eponymous track come to mind), but it didn’t do for Logic what his rap ability might indicate.
Top Tracks: November 9 - November 15
Last week saw a few highly anticipated releases, including new albums from Ty Dolla $ign, Jeezy, and Logic. Surprisingly, none of those guys made it into Top Tracks -- well, except Logic, who somehow ended up on a Juicy J track. Instead, Pusha T, the new prez of GOOD Music, came out of hiding and hit us with two top 10's. The other winner of the week has to be the astoundingly prolific Metro Boomin, who has three new productions in this week's list.
Sales Projections For Jeezy, Logic & Justin Bieber
The biggest battle on this charts is between pop sensations Justin Bieber and One Direction, but it's far from the only one.As it stands, Bieber is looking to take the number one spot with Purpose, with 425-450k in traditional sales, and 475-500k with streams, but it's damn close, with 1D looking to come in with 415-440k (450-475k with streams). And of course, on to the actual rap releases -- Logic is set to move an impressive 85-90k (90-95k with streams), while Jeezy is expected to sell a more modest 60-65k (65-70k with streams).
Logic Releases His Sophomore Album "The Incredible True Story"
Logic has taken a slightly different approach than usual when it comes to the roll out strategy for his sophomore album The Incredible True Story. Instead of doing a ton of interviews & dropping a plethora of singles, like Ty Dolla $ign, Bieber, & Jeezy just did, the Def Jam rapper has remained relatively lowkey over the past few weeks, releasing only two singles and going by his fans' houses to play them a private listening session of the album. Now will this more personal & intimate approach carry over to success in the record sales?
