In the era of conspiracy theories and fake news, the existence of the Loch Ness Monster is still a hot topic. It feels like there's a spotting every year, though there has never been any confirmation. This week, the dialogue surrounding the existence of the mythical creature made its way back into headlines after a photo emerged of what the photographer described as a "big fish."
Steve Challice was on vacation in Scotland when he took a photo of what he said was a "big fish" that he estimated was 30 feet away and 8-feet-long. He shared a photo of the creature on social media that sparked speculation that perhaps Challice managed to catch a photo of the Loch Ness Monster. Though it would certainly be an interesting piece of news to receive in the midst of an unpredictable year, there's no concrete evidence to back these mere speculations.
Even Challice is skeptical that the image actually captured this mysterious creature. "Personally I know there has been some interest and some people are saying it's the monster but I don't believe that," he said. He said it's likely a big fish or a seal of some sorts.
"I have to say I don't believe in the Loch Ness Monster and frankly I think if anything is there then there is a logical explanation for most of the sightings," he said
