Lil Wayne blessed fans with Tha Carter V in late September after a lengthy legal battle with Cash Money and threats to leak the project by Pharmabro Martin Shkreli. Wayne didn't disappoint with Tha Carter V, and a lot of people would argue this is one of Wayne's best projects in the past decade. The album marked another number one debut for Weezy and now, the rapper celebrates the project reaching platinum.

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V is now eligible for platinum. Weezy took to Instagram to share the news with his fans and thank them for their support. This marks another platinum album for Wayne, making it his fifth solo album to reach this milestone. The project did some pretty impressive streaming numbers on its first week which played a role in its debut atop the charts. Tha Carter V garnered 433M on-demand audio streams in its first week, making it the second biggest-streaming week for an album ever. It also had the third biggest week for an album this year following Drake's Scorpion and Travis Scott's Astroworld.
