In his first interview since being hospitalized earlier this month, Lil Wayne talked about his health, recent album, and MTV's 'Hottest MC' list.
Lil Wayne called into DJ Felli Fel on Power 106 for his first interview since being hospitalized for seizures earlier this month. Lil Wayne spoke with the DJ on his recent album, I Am Not A Human Being II, and not making MTV's Hottest MC List. He also cleared up the speculations regarding his health and recent seizures.
While chopping it with DJ Felli Fel, Weezy talked about his recently released album IANAHB 2. Wayne jokingly states that it sucks, and that he hates it. He then goes on to talk about not being apart of MTV's 'Hottest MC' list, which he adds he's glad for not making it. Wayne says he didn't even look at the list and that he probably pissed some people off from MTV or something.
Getting to the point of interest, Wayne also took time to talk about his recent health issues. Weezy talked about his seizures by saying:
“The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious.”
“I have people around me. I actually have [the seizures] so much they already know what to do. They already know how to handle it. Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that.
“The third one was so bad and I live in the hills in L.A. So the reason why it was bad was that I live all the way at the top, so you know how hard it is getting down those hills. That was what was so scary about it.”
Lil Wayne added that the reason for his seizures are due to his heavy work load and too much stress. Not the rumored binge drinking of codeine as some have speculated.
