Lil Scrappy Speaks On Going To Rehab For Weed Addiction [Update: Scrappy Leaves Rehab]

Lil Scrappy says he hopes to become a better man by going to rehab for his marijuana addiction.

Lil Scrappy is heading to rehab to get his weed addiction in check, after failing his urine test while on probation and proving positive for marijuana. For most people, marijuana is a substance that is easily managed in their daily lives, but Scrappy is taking time away from his family to overcome the addiction in a facility.

Lil Scrappy confirmed that he's going to rehab this past Wednesday, and spoke on what he hopes to achieve from the experience with Atlanta's WSBTV.Com. "It is my hope that my time away from my family and especially my little girl, my daughter, will make me a better man," said Scrappy.

The rapper's initial urine test was thought to have been tampered with, although Scrappy denied it. The "Love & Hip-Hop" star is on probation for felony gunand marijuana posession back in 2008.

A judge has granted Lil Scrappy a continuance in his probation battle, allowing him time to go to rehab.

[Update: Scrappy Enters Rehab]

TMZ is reporting that Lil Scrappy has successfully entered rehab to kick his Marijuana habit. The rapper checked himself into a facility Thursday night, where he is expected to stay at least until his next hearing on June 16th.

The program will involve a 6:30AM wake up, 10PM curfew, as well as various therapy sessions (both group and one-on-one). Scrappy will also have no access to his cell phone or laptop, and no visitors within the first two weeks.

If Scrappy can make it through the detox, he should be able to avoid jail time for the probation violation.

Over the weekend Lil Scrappy left the rehabilition center he had entered in order to get his weed addiction under control.

Lil Scrappy stayed for thirty days, checking in on May 30th. Scrappy's lawyer told TMZ "Scrappy has had time to reflect, read, and write. He is now drug and alcohol free."

Scrappy is still on probation, and may be asked to undergo random drug tests.
