Listen to Lil B’s first foray into electronic production: “Enter the Depths.”

To accompany Marvel’s high profile revival of the Black Panther comic series written by Ta-Nehesi Coates, they’ve been creating videos to accompany each issues release. The comic brand has incorporated their close relationship with hip hop into the episodic plot recaps, previously featuring Run The Jewels, Prodigy, Kweku Collins and others. This week, the Based God himself Lil B gets the nod.

Lil B cannot be defined, and he went completely left field by eschewing hip hop altogether and creating an instrumental electronic track to go with the video. The track is a pulse-pounding, atmospheric joint, with crackling feedback and humming bass. He even has his own ‘Based God’ production drop at the beginning.

The plot of the show appears in text and the writer Coates appears midway through to provide some insight into the characters’ motivations. We’re still waiting on Lil B’s highly-touted Black Ken mixtape. Have you been following along with the revived Black Panther?
