Lawsuit Filed Against Universal Music Over Smoking Weed In Their Office Mentions T.I.'s Entourage

A former security guard at Universal Music Publishing Group has filed a lawsuit against the company for letting celebrities smoke weed at their headquarters.

Smoking weed is definitely a big part of the rap game, and it seems it's pouring over into the business-side of things. A lawsuit against Universal Music Publishing Group filed by a security guard who worked there says that their offices often smelled of smoke and high-profile weed smokers openly used common areas for their needs.

Billboard reports that the woman states in her lawsuit, "artists and high-profile celebrities began visiting the premises with drugs in hand and oftentimes offering drugs to Plaintiff, which she refused." The woman says she often complained to her supervisors, but they chose to turn a blind eye. The security guard says she personally witnessed drug use by Macy Gray, guests of Jamie Foxx, MC Ren, and T.I.'s entourage.

The particular incident which paved the way for the security guard's lawsuit against Universal involved T.I. The woman says that while she was on duty she smelled marijuana come from the studio Tip was recording in with Future. Apparently T.I.'s bodyguard was being difficult, and when she asked him to move his car to the designated parking area, he refused, allegedly saying, "I gotta be able to get this boy outta here if a shootout or something goes down."

The security guard complained about this incident to UMPG, and two days later, she was effectively fired, as she was put on suspension and not allowed back on the premises.

Universal has released the following comment about the incident, "While we cannot comment on the allegations between the plaintiff and her employer, we can say that the allegations as they relate to Universal Music Group are absurd."
