The Los Angeles Lakers have just unveiled their Nike Classic "MPLS" jerseys which will be worn during select games this season.
According to the Lakers' press release, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle and co. will be donning the power blue MPLS uniforms for five games, starting with their October 25th matchup against the Washington Wizards at Staples Center.
Additionally, the Lakers will wear their MPLS uniforms on November 15th vs. the Philadelphia 76ers, December 27th against the Memphis Grizzlies, January 3rd vs the Oklahoma City Thunder, and on March 7th vs. the Orlando Magic.
The classic edition is inspired by teams' history and tradition of success since their inception into the league back in Minneapolis. The Lakers' newly unveiled Nike jersey is the fourth in their stable, joining the white "Association," yellow "Icon," and purple "Statement" uniforms.

The new Nike uniforms have been created using new NikeConnect technology. Each adult-sized Nike NBA Connected Jersey will have an embedded NFC (near field communication) chip that will launch real-time team and player content such as pregame arrival footage, highlight packages and top players’ favorite music playlists – all on the jersey owner’s mobile device. Throughout the season, a wealth of exclusive offers and experiences will bring fans closer to the game they love. Nike NBA Connected Jersey is available exclusively online starting September 29th.
The uniforms are comprised of recycled PET bottles, a combination of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester (each uniform represents approximately 20 recycled bottles). This modernized, sweat-wicking, sustainable design has a vastly improved fit with altered construction and hemlines on the shoulder, along with the bottom of both the jersey and shorts allowing for a full range of motion.
The Nike Therma Flex Showtime Warm-up Jacket, the first on-court warm-up jacket with a performance hood. Celebrating the style of the game, Nike designers refreshed a beloved apparel staple into a new performance product for athletes on and off the court.
