KYLE explores his obsession with Japanese culture without going down a risky road. KYLE's Light of Mine debuted on May 18 with "Ikuyo" featuring 2 Chainz & singer Sophia Black, leading the charge. Rather than assemble all contributors under one roof, KYLE opted to hire an animation team led by director Jayme Lemperle. Lemperle's team comprised of Victoria Vincent, Evan Red Borja, Andrea Reyes, Jake Reed, and himself, used Stop Motion to enliven every lyric in the song, including those sung or rapped by his guests.

The video begins with a landscape drawing of a major city. From there the animation follows a constellation of characters intertwined with each other, off the back of KYLE's description of events. "Ikuyo" is the second video off the project since he dropped the Kehlani-assisted "Playinwitme," depicting a love match scenario on daytime Television, with one contestant asking her male counterpart, "If I were sandwich how would you eat me?" Again, KYLE eschews timeless wisdom, because.. who cares?
