Atlanta's Kodie Shane has been making moves lately. In October, Shane was announced as one of the openers on Jhené Aiko's North American "Trip" Tour, and the Sailing Team's first lady also held it down in the BET Awards Cypher. Not only that, but Shane came through with two singles last month, including "Bounce Back" and the suggestively titled "Kissing Pink." Now, the young rapper slash singer is back with another single called "I Know," which finds Kodie Shane once again shining on a more melodic tip.

GreystonePark holds it down with an airy, synth-pad driven beat, which conjures up images of floating clouds and serenity. Shane sounds right at home over the instrumental, spitting opening bars like "I do eighty in a fifty, hit the gas till it's empty, you wonder why my heart's empty, I'm in in the cut like 50, look at my Pumas they fancy, high note like Whitney, Moonwalkin' like Michael." Like many of her tracks, Shane alternates between rapping and singing, holding it down with a catchy, simplistic chorus. And while she does ultimately fall back on the since played out "yeah" flow, Shane manages to keep her flow dynamic for the most part, which is always nice on a brief loosie like this one.

As for Shane's future plans, she'll most certainly have her hands full while on tour with  Jhené Aiko, which is set to kick off in mid-November, and last all the way till the end of December. She's already dropped one album earlier this year, the Back From The Future EP, but she clearly has mad music in the vault. It's hard to say whether or not she'll be dropping something new before year's end, but you never know with Kodie Shane. What do ya'll think, are you feeling this?

Quotable Lyrics

I do eighty in a fifty, hit the gas till it's empty
You wonder why my heart's empty, I'm in in the cut like 50
Look at my Pumas they fancy, high note like Whitney
