It's no secret that the New York Knicks have been the laughing stock of the league this year. With a record of 13-55, the Knicks are far and away the worst team in the league and are currently on a seven-game losing streak. At the forefront of the mess is owner James Dolan, who made waves this week after an altercation with a fan. A Knicks spectator yelled at Dolan to sell the team, which prompted the owner to ban the fan from Madison Square Garden and even detained him for a bit.
During an appearance on "The Michael Kay Show" on 98.7 ESPN New York, Dolan explained the incident and defended his actions.
"The ban is only coming from the fact that we now have learned that he planned it," Dolan said. "They were stalking me. You can't do that in Madison Square Garden. You are not allowed to stalk the owner and then confront him like that. Those particular guys had planned on making that video and selling it on TMZ."
In the video, you can see Dolan telling the fan to "enjoy watching [the Knicks] on TV" which was a clear indication that Dolan didn't want the fan in the arena anymore.
Dolan ended the interview by making it clear that he was not going to sell the team or quit his job. Knicks fans will just have to keep dreaming.
