Louisville, Kentucky native and hip-hop artist Khil has been making a lot of noise in the Mid West. Not only does his lyrical prowess and powerful stage presence continue to electrify crowds in Columbus and Louisville, but his keen business acumen has taken his independent label to new heights. D.O.B. Entertainment sets a new precedent for the next level of entertainment. Khil's drive, ambition, and hunger are without a doubt key elements that encompass his swagger as D.O.B.'s fearless leader. He and his team are pioneering the construction of not only an innovative entertainment entity, but they are dedicated on building a movement that will transcend generational boundaries.
Khil and his delivery with words both on and off the mic are as precise and calculated as they are fluid and instinctual. When he starts his flow, he effortlessly paints a mental picture that is sure enough to take shape in the mind of any listener. He has continued to incorporated new aspects into his live performance. The accompaniment of D.O.B.'s very own DJ Prospect and 3-D Urban Dance Group have added a unique feel to the set, and the performance has been further enhanced by the presence of a full-live band from KY, Waiting on Gabe. There is no denying that the intensity on stage during their live performance is powerful to say the least. What also sets Nikhil's music apart is his ability to bring color and spark to a story that has never been told before.
Some of Khil’s major influences include Dead Prez, Outkast, UGK, T.I., Jay-Z, Nas, and AZ. The album “Let’s Get Free” by Dead Prez was without a doubt one of his biggest inspirations in music to this date. It comes as no surprise that Khil has recently linked up with M1 of Dead Prez to collaborate on tracks and continue to build his movement. It truly has been a dream-come-true for him to work with one of his favorite lyricists in the industry today.
Khil has done shows with The Clipse, Curren$y, Big Sean, Ray Cash, Dead Prez, and Freeway. As he continues to rock crowds in OH and KY, Khil has also been working on his debut solo mixtape "No Excuses, Only Rewards" hosted by DJ Prospect. Khil has commissioned Project Pat, Freeway, Machine Gun Kelly and Dead Prez to be featured on his project to be released early in 2011. The all work/no bullshit concept of the mixtape is vividly displayed in the street single "See in Life" featuring M1 of Dead Prez with additional lyrical swagger brought to you by Khil's younger brother, SD.
Khil is most certainly someone to keep your eye on in 2011 and beyond.
