During his appearance on Power 106's "The Lift Off," Jay Rock received a flattering on-air call from a female fan who wanted to let him know that she loved ("looooved") the album.
Jay Rock was taken aback but played it smooth, "Man, I appreciate that, baby."
The caller let Rock know that she likes 'em "tall, dark, and handsome" and asked for his digits. Jay Rock laughed it off. "You know I don’t give my number out on-air,” he said. “Hit me up on Tinder.”
The caller's voice then dipped an octave. It was not an adoring female fan after all, but Kendrick Lamar.
After the studio got a big laugh out of that, Kendrick offered some candid praise to his Black Hippy-mate Jay Rock. “It feels good, just seeing the growth for someone who kicked in the door for me at TDE. He's always been the big bro."
Jay Rock appreciated the kind words but was still in disbelief. "You a fool," he said.
