With her Cloud 19 mixtape, Oakland's Kehlani turned a lot of heads last year. The singer's now affiliated with Iamsu!'s HBK Gang crew, and starting her own "Tsunami Mob" movement. Recently, we had the chance to sit down with her and get the scoop on her musical background.

Performing since a very young age, Kehlani's first big break came with her high school band Poplyfe, who appeared on "America's Got Talent" and even performed alongside Stevie Wonder once. Kehlani recounts these stories with gusto, telling us how much her music has changed over the years. A big part of this is due to Frank Ocean, whose music she counts as one of her biggest influences.

Look out for a new Kehlani tape in March.
