The gift that we didn’t know we needed and certainly don’t deserve has arrived in the form of pianist Robert Glasper and Kaytranada’s recent collaboration in which the Haitian-Canadian DJ and producer has effectively reworked Glasper’s 2016 ArtScience album for a full-length project of remixes.
While the full outing is currently available to stream, physical copies will be made available for purchase on April 21st, which happens to be Record Store Day. While the original project featured a total of twelve songs, we get Kaytranada’s selection of eight.
Guest appearances come courtesy of the likes of Don Cheadle, Talib Kweli, Alex Isley, and Iman Omari as components of ArtScience’s blend of R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz fuse with Kaytranada’s forward-looking sonic stylings.
