XL Recordings is celebrating their 20-year anniversary with the release of a new compilation, XL Chapter VI. The album features music from a range of XL-signed artists, each providing us with a dose of what they do best. For Montreal-bred producer Kaytranada, that would be vibezzz.
We typically hear production from Kaytra that feels slightly electronic, however the beat he hands off to XL Chapter VI is more jazzy and groovy than anything, with electronic sounds falling by the wayside. It's still got that dance-able quality to it, especially once the drums and bass kick in, but it also shows off Kaytranada's versatility.
