Despite impressing with the smooth R&B-leaning joint “West Drive” last month, Kavale takes a sharp sonic turn for “20/20.” Perhaps he wanted to make sure everyone knows he isn’t just a singer, because he snaps on this track. It’s completely without autotune to boot.
Rapping over a stuttering, staccato beat that he produced, Kavale spits for “n*ggas that lack vision,” critics, and the family he plans on bringing with him when he’s on. Familiar refrains, but Kavale delivers them with charisma and a diverse delivery. He kinda snaps, too. Are y’all hungry for more from yet another budding Toronto artist?
