Karrueche Tran will testify against Chris Brown in court, according to TMZ. Tran, who dated Brown for a time, will testify that the singer physically abused her as well as making death threats towards her.
TMZ goes on to cite sources close to Tran who say Chris allegedly "kicked [Karrueche] down a flight of stairs, punched her in the stomach, threatened to shoot her and made other death threats."
One source claimed that Tran hopes to "inspire other women similarly situated to come forward and confront people who brutalize them." It's said that the alleged abuse began "a long time ago," and that Tran has now "built up her confidence to finally put an end to it."
Brown was recently served with a restraining order from Karrueche at his 28th birthday party. He had already been issued a separate restraining order from one of Tran's friends. Chris had avoided being served by Tran for over 2 months prior to that. Details of the restraining order were revealed in February.
A hearing is set for later this month, according to the Daily Mail.
Brown previously pleaded guilty to felony assault of his former girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009, for which he received five years of probation and six months of community service.
