Kanye West is still in the hospital more than a week after checking in for a "psychiatric emergency." According to TMZ, a source close to Kanye identifies the anniversary of his mother's funeral as the the straw that broke the camel's back after a particularly stressful stretch that included "shocking lack of sleep and the pressures of touring, running his businesses, parenting and providing emotional support to his wife who was suffering her own emotional trauma after the Paris robbery."

The source describes Kanye's hospitalization as a "nervous breakdown" that began on November 20th, the nine-year anniversary of his mother's funeral. That day, he cancelled his show at the L.A. Forum; hours later, he cancelled the remainder of his tour and wound up in the hospital.
