Juelz Santana wants the judge to push back the surrender date, which is set for Jan. 30th, by a month. The rapper asked the judge's to grant him permission to travel to Atlanta in order to attend the filming of a Tyler Perry reunion next month which he mentions in crucial to his professional career.

The document reads, "This event is connected to his participation in the television show ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ It is crucial to his professional career that he be able to participate, and it will provide closure for him as he embarks on his term of imprisonment.”

Additionally, he argues that he's yet to receive the official prison paperwork yet and officials gave him short notice. The rapper wants the one-month extension in order to spend time with his family and his career.

Last year, Juelz Santana was indicted on federal firearms charges after he was accused of bringing a .38-caliber Derringer to Newark Liberty International airport. The rapper was sentenced to 27-months in prison in December after entering a guilty plea.
