Juelz Santana's been dealing with some pretty serious charges that could land him behind bars for a long time. Earlier this year, the rapper fled the Newark Airport after TSA found a loaded gun and oxycodone in his bag. He later turned himself in and he's been on bail ever since. However, the rapper went back to court today and pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to The Associated Press, Juelz Santana has admitted to the court that he tried to get a gun onto a plane at the Newark Airport earlier this year. Santana pleaded guilty to the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as carrying a weapon on an aircraft. The rapper was carrying a .38 caliber handgun even though it's illegal for Juelz to carry one since he's a convicted felony, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Juelz Santana's charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars. The sentencing is set to take place on December 12th this year. However, there's a good chance that he won't actually get the maximum sentence behind bars since he plead guilty instead of letting the case carry on through trial.
Juelz Santana's bail conditions were adjusted in June in order for him to perform with the rest of Dipset in New Hampshire, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. The rapper's conditions included that his mother travels with him, he drives instead of fly and that he doesn't travel with the rest of the Dipset clique.
