J.R. Donato shares "Make It Count" with Cody Blankz.

North Chicago's JR Donato may only be 21, but he's got 8 years of experience in the rap game, and on his new release -- "Make It Count" -- it shows.

He's gone from crafting regional hits as a young teenager to linking up with Wiz and repping Taylor Gang. Last year's North Pole tape saw him trading bars with some big names (Ab-Soul, Wiz Khalifa, Iamsu!), but his upcoming tape, Fast Money & Freedom should further establish him as a force to be reckoned with.

"Make It Count" gives us a good idea of what to expect, finding the rapper taking on a hypnotically pummeling beat from Sledgren and RMB Justice, as he uses his voice and flow in unique ways that only someone who's been writing for close to a decade could pull off. Look out for the tape September 28th.

Quotable Lyrics:
You can catch me in the hood
Even if I make it out
I was raised off three words -- make it count
That money got my pockets padded
That's a safe amount
Time to prove you new rappers just a waste of clout
